Bring the whole family and get ready for the first ever Great Prostate Cancer Challenge® 5K Run/Walk and 1 Mile Kid's Run/Walk for the Detroit area. Competitors from across the state are invited to pick up the pace against prostate cancer. Lace up your sneakers and join Comprehensive Medical Center and ZERO — The Project to End Prostate Cancer on Sunday, September 11, 2011 for the GPCC – Detroit. The race is part of the Great Prostate Cancer Challenge, America’s Premier Men’s Health Event Series, taking place in 27 cities in 2011.

Awards:

Trophies will be awarded to the Top Male & Female in the 5K. Age group awards will also be given out to the following categories for both Male & Female: 19 & Under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69 and 70 & Older.

Course Map:

The 5K will be held at Oakland University with the start/finish area being next to the new medical school building. The 5K Run/Walk and 1 Mile Kid's Run/Walk event will run on the roads and sidewalks through the campus. Click here for a map of the campus. Registration is at O'Dowd Hall.

Timing & Scoring:

Hanson’s Race Management will be using IPICO timing chips to record everyone’s time. The 1 Mile Kid's Run/Walk event will be provided with a finish clock but times will not be recorded.

Oakland University is located in Rochester Michigan with easy access from I-75 and M-59 expressways. Oakland’s main entrance is located at the intersection of Squirrel Road and University. The University’s address is 2200 N. Squirrel Road, Rochester, MI, 48309.
